Gospel simply means "good news." Good news of what? The gospel is the good news of the God-man Jesus Christ, His incarnation (coming to earth and adding humanity to his deity), His sinless life (perfect obedience to God the Father), His death for our sin, His resurrection and ascension to Heaven.

 

God, in the person and work of Jesus Christ, has taken the wrath we deserve and instead given us His perfect righteousness.

 

   "For our sake he made him to be sin rwho knew no sin, so that in him we might

                            become the righteousness of God (2 Cor 5:21)."

 

The gospel is not simply the front door to the Christian life. It isn't a piece of paper or an alter call that leads you to say a prayer and then something you don't need anymore. The gospel is GOD. For this reason, we who are believers should be constantly reminding one another (and ourselves) of the daily need for this good news!
